FINALLY the release of UNDIES IN A BUNCH has arrived and is available for sale!
I am so fortunate to have good, good friends who helped this book come together. A shout out of thanks to Tim, Thiara and Niketta. The book would not have been what it is without your help. Thanks also to Zulay, Judith, Velly-Cavel and Kathie for your feedback and assistance. A very big thanks to Edward for going over each and every word of the book. For being my audience by helping me to see my stories through the eyes of the reader; for being my consultant and motivating me to think bigger and greater; for being my supporter, the calming force when I got too impatient for my own good and for helping me to see that things have greater results when you take your time.
As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait, and I must admit that if the book were rushed and published in the time frame that I had in my mind, things wouldn’t have worked out as well as they did.
This blog entry wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t tell a story.
I’m not a die hard hip-hop fan, but one day I got caught up watching Behind the Music featuring Lil Wayne. Those who know me know very well how unlikely it is that I would be a Lil Wayne fan. I have respect for his talent and I’ll listen to his music, and there is something about his swag that I like, but that’s as far as it goes.
One of the things he said during his interview was that his marriage fell apart because his music came first to him. Music is in his blood, and he was not about to give it up anytime soon for anyone no matter what the circumstances were. I understood his passion and that was surprising because I am a romantic through and through. Allowing anything to break up your relationship is not something I am for, but I understood the passion.
A few of my artsy friends came to mind while I was watching Lil Wayne’s story. People who have passions and ideas, but either life has gotten in the way of their passions or they have just allowed their passions to take a back seat. I can’t believe I’m saying this (ha-ha), but Lil Wayne’s Behind the Music special inspired me.
Living up to what you feel drives you is what makes life worth living.
I don’t write for money or fame. I write because writing fuels me. Writing invokes an ‘on top of the world’ feeling inside of me. I don’t know where writing is going to take me, but for the time being, I’m running with it.
I hope you enjoy reading my work as much as I enjoyed writing it. And I hope you are inspired today to take up your passion and run with it.
Thank you, thank you for your support!
