Danfredo Photography

A few months ago I had a boudoir photo shoot with the fabulous and talented Danielle of Danfredo Rivera. Due to the overwhelming amount of sexiness radiating from these photos (cause I am that sexy; wink) I felt a little squeamish about sharing them. But I HAVE TO promote her so here are a few of the safe photos:

I was amazed at the outcome because I really didn't expect to look as amazing as I did.

Danielle is not limited to boudoir photography; she also does family portraits, weddings, engagement, maternity, newborn…and just about any other type of photography you can imagine. See her flyer:

I know I will DEFINITELY be requesting her services in the future, and until then, it would only be right to recommend her to everyone I know.

Friends with Benefits - Adventures of Modern Mom

The Friend: Zulay Fernandez.

The Benefit: The fabulous writer of the Adventures of Modern Mom Blog (And Blogger Technical Assistant to Louise Cazley).

About Zulay and me: I met Zulay in elementary school. We also went to the same junior high school, but we didn’t become really good friends until we began talking on MySpace, of all places. Z, I and three other ladies also talk smack to each other via email all day, every day; and when you spend so much time with someone, even virtually, you can't help but become closer. Especially with the topics of some of our email conversations. Well, this is my story; Z might have another story of how we became good friends.

When I think of what ‘close friends’ means to me, the people who first come to mind are those who mirror my values on friendship and respect for others. I’ve encountered a few people who abuse friendship and take it for granted, but I’ve also encountered many wonderful people. What seems to be happening on my venture into womanhood is that my quantity of friends is dwindling to make room for the quality friends. Zulay is quality, son!

The incident that earned Zulay a huge gold star of friendship on my friendship bulletin board (I don’t really have one of those) was during a time when Zulay came across some not so nice things that were said about me. And without me uttering a word about how I felt, she contacted me the first chance she had to get me out of my funk and to confirm that no matter what anyone said about me she knew who I was and my character spoke for itself. It might seem like a little thing to her, but that one phone call meant a lot to me.

Words do hurt. I don’t care what they say about sticks and stones. Who made that ish up anyway?? We should throw sticks and stones at them while telling yo’ mama jokes, then ask then if words hurt or not. But this is about Z, I need to focus. What I like about Zulay is that although she is a hardworking woman and a busy mom and wife, she always makes time for you if you need her.

Zulay is also one of my biggest cheerleaders where my writing is concerned. She supports all of my ideas and encourages me to step outside of my comfort zone by taking advantage of all available opportunities, because, as she always tells me, “You never know.”

Who is Zulay Fernandez?
I am a Development Officer, well at least that is my title. I am more of an office manager and bookkeeper by trade, but what I would love to do is write and plan parties for a living. Not sure if that goes hand in hand, but these are two of the things that I love to do. And I recently rediscovered my love of writing and, can you imagine, I am actually sort of good at it! Who knew!!!

When did writing become important to you?
When I was in the third grade, I believe, we were told to write a poem or something, I can't remember exactly what we were asked to write, and it was going to be submitted to this big citywide contest. I wrote a small poem about my dad, and the teacher really liked it so she submitted it. Well it got picked and I won a trophy, my poem was published in a journal and my family and I got to dress up and they called my name and everything; it was a big deal!

Has it been an easy or difficult road to follow your passion?
Well, yeah it’s been difficult. For years I didn’t write anything. I just didn't continue with it. I just went about the business of growing up and being me. It wasn't until I got on Facebook and became a mom that I began posting the crazy things that pregnancy, motherhood and having a kid does to you. People started taking notice. I would post something on my status and people would respond. My sister took notice and she told me that I should just have a blog. Well my sister is rarely wrong (if you tell her I will kill you) so that’s how my blog, Adventures of Modern Mom came about! It got a good response. I still find it hard to blog because now I have two kids, and my time is not my time anymore; but I really try to find time to do it.

I am not looking to get rich or famous, by blogging (although that would be nice). For me, it’s more therapeutic. I get to let out all my thoughts and feelings on my blog and people actually relate! Very surprising. I have people who email me all the time that they are totally glad that I shared, that my stories put a smile on their face, or that they were also going through my same issue and reading my perspective helped them!

Who / what inspires you?
Wow, who or what inspires me...? That's a long list. I must say that for Adventures of Modern Mom, the inspirations are my two daughters and husband! A lot of my blog is about them. If I didn't have them in my life all these crazy, wacky things would not be happening to me... not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing. (I kid, I kid) Seriously, Adventures of Modern Mom came about because I am a wife and mother who is trying to find a balance while also trying to stay true to me.

For more information about Zulay Fernandez and Adventures of Modern Mom, please visit her blog, her Facebook Fan Page or follow her on twitter @advofmodernmom.

Feel free to contact Zulay if there is a mom you would like her to feature on her Mommy Spotlight, to recommend "Cool Finds" and fun, interesting activates to do with your kids; Or contact Zulay to share your story or to simply say hello: zlopezf@gmail.com.

I am not a mom, but Zulay’s stories are so relatable that you are guaranteed to connect with her experiences. Zulay is a true inspiration to me and it’s fantastic to have a close friend to go on this writing journey with. I wish her all the best in the future of her writing career!

Friends with Benefits - Christian Rap Artist, Marc Cazley

The Friend: Marc Cazley.

The Benefit: Christian Rapper/ Singer/ Songwriter.

About Marc and me: Marc is more than a friend, he’s my little brother. I met Marc I was ten years old, in January of 1989, after he burst out of our mother’s womb and joined our family. Before Marc came into the picture, I was an only child, but I’d always wanted a sibling. Now that I had a sibling it took me some time to adjust to having a toddler around. Once Marc learned how to walk he took to exploring his surroundings and sometimes, due to his curiosity, items of mine would end up in the toilet or out the window. I didn’t find this as humorous as my mom did, who told me that if I didn’t want Marc to get a hold of my items, to keep my room clean and keep things out of his reach. Did I listen? No.

I had an incomplete sewing project where I’d wrapped the thread around and stuck the sewing needle into the fabric. My sewing project ended up on the floor, Marc walked into my room and the needle ended up going into his foot. I felt terrible and cried all the way to the hospital in the ambulance, because it was my fault that we were our way to the hospital in the first place. Marc has since forgiven me for being the cause of such a traumatic injury.

That story is about fifty years old, but it’s what came to mind when I started writing about Marc.

Marc is special to me because he is my first sibling. What I like about Marc is that he has this cool, roll of your shoulders attitude about himself. I can be pretty high strung at times, so this is a personality trait that I wish I had. I also love Marc’s intelligence. Instead of getting his information from surfing the internet, which I’m sure he does occasionally, Marc gets his information and news the old fashioned way, by reading the newspaper everyday. Anyone can read the newspaper everyday, but due to the instant gratification of this technological age that we live in, most young people don’t. I don’t even read the paper at all. So kudos to my bro for keeping it old school.

Another thing I love about Marc is the confidence and belief he has in himself and the positive things he is doing with his self-assurance.

One Saturday, Marc invited me to Harvest Center Ministries were he would be performing. I didn’t doubt my brother’s talent, but his performances blew me away. He was AMAZING!! I can write, but I couldn’t construct a song and put it together. I probably could if I really tried, but Marc doesn’t have to try. He writes all of his lyrics by himself. His lyrics are all positive words glorifying God and spreading His word. In his songs, Marc combines current events with God’s message and I believe that his delivery will go a long way and reach many people. I am so, so proud of him!!

Who is Marc Cazley? I am a Rapper, Singer, Song Writer and I write Christian songs for myself as well as for others. (He's also an artist, as in he can draw and he has a good eye for photography. But this is about his music, so I'll get back to the questions.)

When did song writing become important to you? I've been writing rap songs since I was about eight-years-old. I wrote a lot of songs as I got older. Finally when I was the age of like fourteen or fifteen-years-old, I started rapping in the projects with my church. We would go out in the summertime to different projects and reach out to the youth in the Mott Haven area of the Bronx . When I would rap in these places to audiences that didn't necessarily agree with my beliefs, I still had awesome feedback! So many people told me that I was the “Best Christian rapper” that they ever heard. And then there were other times when I would be walking past the same project buildings weeks later and there was kids who would come up to me and start singing my choruses or reciting my lyrics! I was shocked to say the least, but the good thing is... I never became cocky or let it get to my head! But I would have to say I think that was the point in my life. That I knew what God wanted me to do.

Has it been an easy or difficult road to follow your passion? It has been difficult at times! Definitely! There have been periods of my life where I was doing things totally the opposite of what I knew that I was called to do… Times when I was doing some horrible things! That's a whole ‘nother story in itself (ha-ha). But once, I cleared myself of all the extra-curricular foolishness, that made the road a whole lot easier!

What / who inspires you? First I'm gonna say this and I know it's gonna sound corny to some - but first and foremost, I would have to say “God” inspires my music! He's the one who blessed me with the talent, he's the one who puts the lyrics in my head and helps them flow from the pen and into my performances! But as far as artists who inspires me, I would have to say Christian Rap artists, ‘Ambassador’, ‘Da’ Truth’ and ‘Flame’ are probably the ones who most inspire me to keep my finger on the "Go Button ".

Marc’s last words: Right now my songs can be found on You Tube under MC “No In The Middle”. I have other songs like MC "God of Creation" and "Quick Hitters" on there as well. Enjoy them and share them. I'm just warming up!

Here are two of Marc’s songs:

For more information about Musical Marc Cazley, (that’s the name I’m giving him) please visit (and “Like”) his Facebook Fan Page, follow him on twitter @MiracleMC, and on You Tube where he promises to share more of his talents.

Marc, I am so proud of the young man you have grown to be and what you are doing with your life. Keep doing what you do! I wish you the very best in each and every avenue you take to share God’s word. Remember – You can do all things, through Christ who strengthens you.

Introducing Friends with Benefits - Daisy Fitness

Get your minds out of the gutter. It's not what you think!

Because I have so many great friends with beneficial extracurricular activities (beneficial to me if I ever wanted to use them), I decided to feature each of them in hopes that it will generate business and mula. Hopefully they don’t forget the little people (me) when they are raking in the big bucks.

The Friend: Daisy Santana.

The Benefit: Personal Trainer.

About Daisy and me: I met Daisy, in 1990 in elementary school. Although we also went to the same junior high school we didn’t become good friends until we were in our 20’s because she was a part of the popular crowd and I was…not. Before this we only shared one best friend who is essentially is the reason that Daisy and I are friends. Since our friendship blossomed, we have bonded over our mutual love for all things fun, fashion and style and dancing; especially Salsa dancing.

There are some people who are just born stylish. When you look at their childhood photos there are no goofy ones, just a stylish little girl. Daisy is that person. I had to grow into knowing how to put things together. And if I ever become more famous than I am now, (wink) Daisy has the privilege of being the Personal Stylist to the one, the only, Louise Cazley. Lucky her!!

What I like about Daisy as a friend is that she is honest, she doesn’t gossip, she isn’t judgmental and she has a wonderful heart.

The Business: Daisy Fitness.

When did physical fitness become important to you?
When I was 20 years old, I was working at a company that also had a gym for the employees. Once I began working out there, I enjoyed the way it made me feel; mentally and physically. Since then, I haven’t stopped working out and my love for physical fitness just developed into something that I might want to make into a career.

When did you begin to take the steps to turn your pastime into a career?
I began studying to become a Personal Trainer about 5 or 6 years ago. After attending classes at the gym, and seeing how the different instructors ran their classes, I realized that I also have what it takes to motivate others in fitness. I enjoy when someone feels good about the results they are getting because of a routine we worked on together.

Has it been an easy or difficult road to follow your passion?
I’ve wanted to do personal training for quite some time, but it took a while to take my test which I finally took this year and passed. After two months in the industry, it has been a bit difficult being that I don’t work at a specific gym; so right now I have to train at parks, or at my client’s homes. If I want to make myself more marketable, I have to take more courses so that I gain access to more clientele.

What / who inspires you?
I get inspired by my boxing instructor. He started working in the industry about 15 or so years ago and also and found his niche. He is a great teacher, personal trainer and he has a great following. People follow him throughout the city to take his class.

For more information about Daisy Fitness, please visit her Facebook Fan Page under Daisy Fitness or contact her at daisyss30@gmail.com.

I believe that the best way to live a fulfilled life is to make a living doing something that you are passionate about. In a way you spend more time at work than you do at home. How could earning a living off your passion be anything but right!!

Daisy, I wish you all the luck in the world!
